Join us for an unforgettable Scafell Pike guided walk to the highest mountain in England. Following one of the most scenic routes on the mountain, we’ll start in Borrowdale, pass the beautiful Styhead Tarn and ascend via the famous Corridor Route before descending through the stunning Grains Gill valley.

Led by a qualified Mountain Leader, this 9-mile guided walk up Scafell Pike offers spectacular mountain scenery, rewarding hiking and the confidence of exploring with an experienced guide. Whether you want to tick off a bucket-list summit, experience England’s highest peak for the first time or simply enjoy a challenging day in the Lake District with like-minded walkers, this is the perfect way to do it safely and enjoyably.
What to Expect
We’ll meet in the morning at a location in Borrowdale (the exact meeting time and location will be confirmed after booking).
From there, we’ll begin our ascent towards Styhead Tarn, one of the Lake District’s most picturesque mountain tarns, before joining the famous Corridor Route. Often regarded as one of the best routes up Scafell Pike, it winds beneath dramatic crags and offers incredible mountain scenery throughout the climb.
After reaching the summit of Scafell Pike (978m) and taking in the panoramic views (weather permitting), we’ll descend via Grains Gill, a scenic route that leads us back into the Borrowdale valley.
Is this Scafell Pike guided walk suitable for me?
This walk is suitable for anyone with a good level of fitness who is comfortable walking for a full day over steep, rocky and uneven mountain terrain. Previous mountain experience is helpful but isn’t essential, as your qualified Mountain Leader will provide route guidance, mountain safety advice and support throughout the day.
Important Information
Walks are weather dependent and the route may be altered on the day for safety reasons. Your guide will choose the most appropriate route based on current mountain conditions.
Please ensure you have a good level of fitness, as this is a challenging mountain walk.
You’ll need to bring appropriate clothing, sturdy walking footwear and enough food and water for a full day in the mountains. A recommended kit list will be provided after booking.
Group sizes are kept small to ensure a safe, enjoyable and more personal experience for everyone.
