We are a trusted outdoor activity provider based in Leeds, England. You can book outdoor adventures with us, including guided walks, mountaineering and wild camping.

The majority of our guided walks take place in the beautiful Lake District and Yorkshire Dales areas. We also specialise in teaching navigation awareness and skills, including map reading.

We are passionate about the outdoors and pride ourselves on providing inspiring and authentic trips for everyone.

Who We Are

Northern Guiding was founded by Mark Killala, a highly experienced mountaineer and adventurer. Mark has completed over 3,000 mountain walks in many different locations.

Mark has completed many qualifications, including:

  • Mountain Leader Award
  • Summer Mountain Leader Award
  • First Aid
  • Expedition Leadership
  • Safety Management
  • Accredited The Duke of Edinburgh Award Assessor for Bronze, Silver and Gold

These courses have given Mark the skills and expertise to safely guide others on exciting walks, sharing his extensive knowledge along the way.

Mark works alongside other experienced instructors to lead groups of all abilities and share their love for the outdoors.

We are fully insured and every instructor we work with is DBS checked.
