Our Recommended Kit List for Adventure
Kit List
You should bring:
- Comfortable walking boots with good ankle support and spare laces
- Hiking socks
- A waterproof jacket
- Waterproof trousers
- Gaiters
- Gloves
- Hat/balaclava
- A rucksack which is big enough for all your kit
- A head torch with spare batteries
- Food and drink – at least one litre of liquid per day, more on a hot day, a packed lunch plus spare high-energy bars
- A fully charged mobile phone
- Sun protection
- Sun hat
- Sun glasses
- A whistle
- A camera
- A first aid kit
- A bivy bag
- Layered clothing – wear a wicking thermal base layer, a fleece layer and bring spare soft shell trousers or shorts if warm.
Additional Kit for Wild Camping
For our wild camping adventures, you’ll need to carry the following:
- A tent
- A stove and spare fuel
- Cooking equipment
- A sleeping mat
- A sleeping bag
- Spare clothes
- Spare container for water
- Tissues or toilet paper
- Hand gel
- Food – boil in the bag type stuff, food for packed lunch, an evening meal, breakfast and lunch
- Tea or coffee
- A cup
- Knife, fork, spoon or spork.
Additional Kit for Navigation Courses
For your navigation course, you should bring a map and compass. You will be told what map to bring with you.
