Product Description
Cumbria Way Guided Walking Holiday
Walk from Ulverston to Carlisle on a seven-day Cumbria Way guided walking holiday. Over five walking days, you will cover approximately 73 miles through the Lake District and the Cumbrian countryside, with a Mountain Leader to guide the group. The route links lakeside paths, valleys, mountain passes and quiet farmland before reaching the historic city of Carlisle.
Starting in Ulverston, the trail heads towards Coniston and then through the villages and valleys of the southern Lakes. It continues into Great Langdale before crossing Stake Pass to reach Borrowdale and Keswick. North of Keswick, the scenery becomes more open and remote as the route passes below Skiddaw towards Caldbeck. The final stage follows gentler countryside into Carlisle.
What to expect
This holiday is for walkers who are comfortable spending several full days on their feet. Daily distances range from around 12.5 to 16 miles. Some sections have sustained climbs, uneven paths and exposed terrain, particularly around Stake Pass and north of Keswick. Weather and ground conditions can change, so you should bring suitable walking boots, waterproofs and clothing for a range of conditions.
Your Mountain Leader will guide the route, leaving you free to enjoy the walk and the changing landscape. Group places are limited to 12 walkers plus the guide.
Accommodation is in guest houses, inns or hotels along the route. Daily luggage transfers mean you only need to carry a day sack with your walking essentials. Each person may bring one item of luggage weighing up to 20 kg for transfer.
