Great Whernside from Kettlewell

Join us for a rewarding guided walk to the summit of Great Whernside. Starting from the beautiful Yorkshire Dales village of Kettlewell. This circular route is around 10 miles long and offers a great mix of open fell walking, quiet paths and wide views across the surrounding hills.

What to Expect on the Walk

From Kettlewell, we begin by heading towards Hag Dyke before making our way up to the summit of Great Whernside. At 704 metres, Great Whernside is one of the highest points in the Yorkshire Dales and gives a real sense of space and achievement.

After enjoying the summit, we descend towards Park Rash before following the route back to Kettlewell.

Guided by a Mountain Leader

Our Guided Mountain Days are led by a fully qualified Mountain Leader. So you can enjoy the challenge of the walk with the support of an experienced guide. While walking with a friendly group of people.

Safety and Weather

We will meet on the morning of the walk, with the exact time confirmed when you book. All routes may change depending on the weather and ground conditions. If needed, we will choose a safer alternative route that is suitable for the day.
